How to Promote Your Podcast Episode

You were just on a podcast. Congrats! I bet you crushed it. What now?

Don’t just call it a day once the episode is recorded. Put your marketing hat on and promote the episode. Questioning why you need to do that? Because promoting a podcast episode you were on:

  • Demonstrates expertise; boosts your credibility

  • Gives you content to attract prospects, generate leads, build your brand, grow your business

  • Allows your clients and/or following to connect with you

  • Shows gratitude and strengthens relationship with the podcast host (Especially this one right here! Thanks!)

  • Increases your visibility to other podcasters that may want you on their podcasts

How do I promote my episode?

  1. Share to social media.

    • Write a post and be sure to focus it on why your audience would want to listen. Make it about them. How does listening to your episode help them?

    • Share graphics. Use the podcast cover art, episode art the podcaster provides you, or a great quote from the episode.

    • Make a short audio or video clip from your episode that educates or entertains.

    • Provide a link where they can listen. Note that the LinkedIn algorithm prefers you not to put links in your posts so it’s better to add them in your comments.

    • Use hashtags related to your topic and to the audience you want to listen.

    • Tag the podcast account and/or podcaster.

  2. Add to your email newsletter
Include any of the above graphics and a link to the episode.

  3. Share it on your website.
If you have a page where you share your appearances or a log, write about your appearance, share graphics or audio/video clips, and link to your episode.

  4. Tell your community.
Share the episode in online communities and forums where relevant and helpful.

When you’re on my podcast, I provide promotional graphics and clips you can use. If you’re on a podcast that doesn’t provide them, check if they have a press kit that provides graphics. Canva is also a great resource for making your own.

I can’t wait to see what you share! Be sure to tag me or show me!
